So, a little over 3 years ago we were in transition. After feeling God was calling me home from 3 1/2 years working at our church, I was embarking on a new journey. I would be working from home as a Virtual Assistant (yes, it’s a real job. yes, I really work. no, I don’t just sit around all day.) and have the freedom to be fully present for my kids and my husband. Little did I know that I was at the beginning of making a life, instead of just a living.
Four short months into my career as a Virtual Assistant, I began working for Curt Beavers. I had no idea in April of 2013 all that God would do through this “job”, the doors He would open, the friendships with the Beavers family and the countless other blessings. But working alongside Curt is where I really began to understand the difference in making a life and making a living.
Recently Curt released his second book, Make a Life. It took me having a plane ride to Phoenix where I had no distractions to sit still and read the book. And even after working with him for three years, I still took away so much.
So often, we get wrapped up in the daily ins and outs of life, of earning a paycheck, of paying the bills, that we lose site of the things that make us excited. We’re making a living, but we’re missing out on the things that make a life. We get so wrapped up in our jobs, whether that’s a corporate CEO or the CEO of your home, that we lose ourselves and stop pursuing our passions. Finding those things that energize us with excitement are the things that make a life. It’s different for all of us.
My heart skips a beat when I can go to a class party, cheer (loudly) from the sidelines, spend a day fishing, have a date night with my mister, roll the dice with my BUNCO girls, spend time growing my Juice Plus business. Really, the list could keep going on. But just 3 years ago, so many of those things weren’t on my radar. There wasn’t time. There was no margin.
By taking a risk a little over 3 years ago and following my heart home, we all began to experience what it is to make a life at a completely new level. Maybe a complete career change isn’t what making a life looks like for you. Maybe it is. But either way, this book will empower you, will encourage you and will help you define those God moments that lead you down your path to your most fulfilled life.
Basically, you’ve got to read this book!
So here’s where I make it super easy for one of you!

If I could design my life and money wasn’t a concern we would buy an RV and modify it so that we could take our special needs daughter on any vacation we wanted!

Oh, I so love this!
I would take my kids EVERYWHERE with me! Right now we have 6 kids and have to get 2 hotel rooms almost everywhere we travel, so we aren’t always able to take them all with us. We switch out who gets to stay home with Grandma. 🙂

It’s fun for them to have Grandma time, but, especially as they get older, SO much fun to travel together!
